[...] Ok, I am going to do another post about homebrewing clubs. This blog and the rest of the site is dedicated to promoting the wonderful hobby of home beer brewing. Here is the link to the old post. Anyone in any brew club anywhere should post a comment with info on your club. If we all work together, we can help new brewers find clubs in their local area. That is the goal here, get brewing, the new year is almost here! [...]

David,
Thank you very much for your kind words about my blog and my site. It is just a few weeks old, and having positive feedback just feels great!
I was wondering if I could ask you to change the links to point to the actual site, rather than wordpress.
The site is http://www.drunkmansguide.com, and the blog is http://www.drunkmansguide.com/blog.
I may eventually move the blog off of the wordpress server, and I’d hate to have dead links.
Thanks again! I’ll add your site to my blogroll as well.

It does look like it costs more, but is it worth it? Really, I don’t know. Man has been brewing beer for a long time, what happened? Did they have “Global Warming” back in the 1500’s? I am sure that everything had to be organic then, there were no chemicals, there wasn’t much of anything. Back then, they just Brewed it, bugs and all!
A concise timeline of beer history by Prof. Linda Raley, Texas Tech University.
BEER HISTORY
Ancient History
Historians speculate that prehistoric nomads may have made beer from grain & water before learning to make bread.
Beer became ingrained in the culture of civilizations with no significant viticulture.
Noah’s provisions included beer on the Ark.

Should we go back to brewing that way? I guess, anything in the name of “Organic”

National Organic Homebrew Challenge
Seven Bridges Cooperative, a certified organic homebrew supplier, is hosting the worlds first all organic homebrew competition which is open to home brewers of beer throughout the United States.
This is the first time a contest has been held for beer brewed at home using only organically grown ingredients, GMO free yeast (most yeast packaged for homebrewers, including White Labs and Wyeast brands, is GMO free), and no chemical or artificial additives. By accepting only organically brewed beer entries, the contest represents the first opportunity organic homebrewers have had to compete fairly against other organic brewers in an AHA/BJCP sanctioned competition.

[...] Flying Dog: Snake Dog IPA (Part 2) [...]
I just happened to notice something, the picture of the bottle on both posts, is NOT what the bottles I have looks like! The pictures here don’t look bad, the image on my bottles has that snake dog thing in a white blob of some sort, and it appears that the dog thing is, well, I guess taking a dump?
Honestly, this beer is way too good for it’s packaging! So, don’t hold that against what is inside, try this beer, it is very good!
Have you tried Long Hammer on draught? I agree that it is not an over the top IPA, but when I have it on draught the cascade hop cirtus type smell comes through and then some. If they were going for an easy drinking IPA than this is it, but your right at 38 IBUs it is nice stepping stone betwen a Pale Ale and an IPA.
First off, thanks for the reply.I would have to agree with you that it could be called a “stepping stone” and I realize that not everyone likes the big hoppy beers. The whole point in my “opinionated” style, is to get discussions started. As you know, there are plenty of sites that just rate beer in a “technical” fashion. Not here, this site is to get out the reasons why we do or don’t like a particular beer or style of beer. This is a place to let out your feelings, or, opinions as the case may be. So, again, thanks for the comment, that is what it is all about!Oh, I would imagine that you are right about Long Hammer on draught, beer from a keg is always the BEST! There goes that opinion thing again!

I just realized something, since this beer is brewed with no Chemicals, Preservatives, or additives, does that mean that it is “Organic”? I am sorry, I just get bothered by all of that “green” stuff.
We probably could qualify for Oragnic status, if we were willing to navigate all of the other hurdles required to qualify for that O stamp…but we aren’t.
We’re happy with the World Class beers we brew in our tiny little town in Oregon. I guess other people are too because we’re having trouble keeping up with demand.
Drink on!
This is one of my favorite beers as well. A great mix of hops and maltiness.
I hope that anyone visiting tis site will notice that I am nw using Content Luv, thi is a plug-in that wil add your last post from your blog, or what ever you put it the “website” link, yes it must be a site with an RSS feed to work. After this post, there should be a link to my other blog, OpinionHead.com, this post will explain it better and tell you where to find it. Hve fun!
Hmm, no link, just another reason to switch from Yahoo! They have something set up to where it won’t work! Oh well, it does work at OpinionHead.com, so go try it there!
I am going to test this again, I may have fixed it

Because they are using all of the corn, wheat, and barley, etc, for making methanol, to mix with gasoline! Hey gas prices at $3.00 a gallon is one thing, beer at $11 a six pack is another! We need to all understand that when you take something from one place, it comes out of another! Thes [...]

These are some excellent tips on grill buying. Grill maintenance is huge and can save you quite a bit of money. Keeping up with the maintenance should keep the grill in good working condition for years. Enjoyed the article.

How about some free beer?
BROKEBUTSTILLDRINKINGs last blog post..Story #1 – One Arm Cletus – "Free Beer For A Day" Giveaway
You’re paying $200 for a sack of Barley? I’m able to brew for less than $30 a batch. I pay $39 for 50 lbs of American 2-row. Hops are about $3 an oz, but yeast is really cheap. Four bucks a pound?!?!?! Do you live in Communist Russia?
I guess I should have explained where I got my price. I am in Texas, so a $40 sack of malt has to be shipped, that doubles the price. Yes, I can drive to Austin and pick it up myself, but that would also take a good $20-$30 in gas! My point is, when I started brewing, about 7-8 years ago, I could brew a 10 gallon batch, using real German malt, and only have about $30 in it, but not anymore, it has just gotten too expensive. I tried to buy a couple of six packs of Lagunitas IPA, there went almost 20 bucks! I guess I am just venting about the idiots using food to make gas! A dang 20lb sack of cat food has gone from 7 bucks to 12 in the last year! Make gas out of oil, not food!
I find that if a brew doesn’t clear it hasn’t brewed out properly, keeping it warm longer whilst brewing usually cures the problem
